Fried Chicken – Hot Sauce with House Seasoning


If, you like it spicy with a bit of tang, then this fried chicken recipe is for you.

Serves: 4


  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup tabasco
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • House seasoning
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 to 2 1/2 pound cut-up chicken

House seasoning:

  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder


In a medium bowl, beat eggs with the water. Add hot sauce so egg mixture is bright orange. In another bowl, combine pepper and flour. Season chicken with the house seasoning. Dip seasoned chicken in the egg mixture, and then in the flour mixture. Heat the oil to 350F and fry until brown and crisp. Cook dark meat 13 to 14 minutes and white meat 8 to 10 minutes.

For house seasoning, mix all ingredients together and store in air tight container up to 6 months.
